Thermoformers are machines used for the production of plastic packaging. These packagings are usually made of a hard or soft film. The raw material, i.e. the film, is pulled down from large rolls and then heated with special heating plates. This process is also known as thermoforming. Heating makes the films soft and elastic. With the help of air pressure, the material is then drawn into a deep form. The designation of the machine as a deep-drawing machine can also be derived from this procedure. A kind of plastic shell is produced from a film. The shape used determines the later appearance of the packaging. This makes it possible to produce a wide variety of packaging forms for different branches of industry.
