Description
Laser drilling is a non-contact and chipless drilling process that enables both fine bores of a few micrometers and precision holes up to a few millimeters in diameter. Laser drilling effortlessly meets the requirements for drilling in terms of high reproducibility and precision: unlike cutting micro drills, laser drilling does not cause any wear of the tool. Due to the constancy in the laser focus, the tool, with a constant intensity curve and a constant focus diameter, there is a reproducibility at all drilling positions that no other cutting micro-drill can guarantee. Laser drilling with an ultra-short pulse laser enables post-processing-free precision drilling due to the ablation process without melting, which can be used in a variety of technical products.
