Forging is one of the oldest crafts of mankind. Already 6000 B.C. the first forged parts were produced in the area of today's Afghanistan.Forged parts, or also forgings are the result of a metal-processing process, which causes a change in cross-section by non-cutting pressure forming of metals. The targeted modification of the fine structure of metals results in forgings that can either be used immediately or are available for further processing.Manually and industrially produced forgings are distinguished, whereby the possibilities of shapes and sizes are almost unlimited. With a few exceptions, all metals are suitable for the production of forgings. While in traditional forging technology both cold and temperature-dependent deformations of the forging blank are carried out using anvils and hammers, in modern industrial forging processes it is possible to produce large and heavy components from steel using air hammers or presses. Today, forged parts for vehicle construction, mechanical engineering and shipbuilding are mainly produced in industry. Forged parts are also used in aerospace and medical technology. In Germany there are around 250 companies with over 31,000 employees producing forged parts.Example examples are the wrought-iron parts for an attractive fence around a site. According to customer specifications it is possible to produce any metal fence elements with ornaments and decorations. Forged metal fences and gates are usually unique. They retain their value and look very good.
