We have four plasma cutting machines of the latest generation, on which plasma cuts in the thickness range of 3 - 35mm are produced. Plasma cutting is a melting process during which the metallic material is melted by the plasma jet and blown out of the kerf.
One of the advantages of plasma cutting is the low heat effect on the steel parts, which simplifies further processing of the plasma cuts with regard to flatness / evenness.
Due to the high burning speed of plasma cutting, the costs per cutting metre remain low, enabling the economical production of shaped blanks. Despite or even because of the high flame cutting speed in plasma cutting (up to 4000mm/min.) clean cut edges and tightest tolerances are possible.
We therefore prefer plasma torching to oxyfuel torching, especially for large and relatively thin steel blanks, in order to achieve the best quality while taking economic efficiency into account. Flame-cut parts produced by plasma cutting, especially rings and round blanks, are ideally suited for further processing on machining centres as well as lathes and drilling machines. We would also be pleased to carry out this mechanical processing for you.
