The process of surface reconstruction is divided into 3 methods. Automatic, manual and design methods. Besides these 3 possibilities, there can be a useful mixing variation. Surface reconstruction is used for the construction of free-formed surfaces. For example an automatic reconstruction can be used, so that important points can be rechecked manually or can be reworked constructively. By means of specialist software, previously scanned data of diagrams, such as point clouds, sections or triangle meshes can be exported in CAD and prepared for further processing.
