Behind a gripper feed is a machine for industrial production, which is available in various versions. This machine has little or nothing to do with large-format construction machines, which are used, for example, in bridge construction or in the construction of wind turbines and similar colossuses. A gripper feed is therefore a component of a machine used in the metalworking and metalworking industry. Different versions, machine types and machine sizes are of course also available, so that a uniform definition is difficult or even impossible. Basically, however, it can be noted that these are also programmable machines for the production of large quantities. This means that gripper feeds are used in production with CNC machines or other controllable or programmable systems. Often companies outsource their respective capacities to relevant centres and leave the production with such machines to a specialised company. The advantage for these companies is that they do not have to make efforts themselves to expand their own capacity, which may only rarely be used. However, if a corresponding production should often be carried out, it may make sense to purchase own systems with gripper feed and to employ appropriately trained specialist personnel in order to save costs.
