Cross tables are devices within two linear guides and for moving an object within a plane. The two existing guides of the cross table determine the directions of movement in X and Y directions. In most cases, the angular offset is 90 degrees. With some variants, this angle can also be set individually. If this is the case, it is also referred to as a swivel table. The machine table carries the workpiece to be machined and can assume any position in the area of the X and Y axes due to the interaction of the two axes.
