Mammography Film PRIMAX X-MA
Applications:
The high speed and high contrast medical X-ray film type PRIMAX X-MA is specially designed for routine mammography examinations
Characteristics:

• Single-coated orthochromatic film on blue tinted PET-base
• High speed and high contrast of the film without compromising exposure latitute is allowing

a low patient dose

• Anti-halation layer increases image sharpness
• High resistance to handling artefacts

Handling of the film:

• For easy handling of the film in the darkroom the film sheets are fitted with a notch. Viewing

at the coated film side the notch is at the upper right edge.

• The coated film side must be directed towards the intensifying screen during the exposure

of the film

• Avoid buckling of and any pressure on the film

Intensifying screens:

• green emitting mammography screens to be used

Processing:

• Automatic processing in standard 90 second cycle in any type of standard branded X-ray

film processing chemicals, for instance Kodak RP X-OMAT
Darkroom light/filters :

• Use of red safety filters like Kodak GBX-2, Agfa R-1 or similar ones required
• Safelight tests should be carried out under the conditiones in which the film will be used

Packing and Sizes:

• packing in boxes of 100 sheets NIF
• sizes 18x24 and 24x30 cms

Storage:
-unprocessed film should be stored at maximum 23°C
-relative humidity to be kept within 40 to 60 per cent
-protection necessary against ionizing radiation (max. 90 nGy/h)
-protection necessary against the influence of chemicals
