The ultrasound doppler is a device that emits ultrasound waves to obtain information about the condition of the veins. This device is a small device which is no larger than a cigarette packet and is equipped with a pen-like probe. The probe emits the ultrasound in waves that are reflected by the flowing blood and captured by the ultrasound doppler. The captured signals are converted into acoustic signals and are audible as noise. By squeezing the thigh and lower leg muscles or the patient's own varicose veins, important information about the valve function of the veins is produced. The same applies to the "letting the patient press or cough".
