Alnico is an alloy consisting mainly of the metals aluminum, nickel and cobalt. This alloy is characterized by its high magnetic conductivity and temperature resistance. Due to their high remanence and coercive force, Alnico magnets are particularly suitable for applications where constant and stable magnetism is required. As a manufacturer of magnet systems, we at MMT Mannel Magnettechnik GmbH specialize in the production of alnico magnets in various shapes and sizes.
Thanks to our many years of experience and expertise in magnet technology, we are able to develop and produce customized alnico magnets for a wide range of applications. Our high-quality alnico magnets are used in sensors, measuring devices and motors, for example. Thanks to their high magnetic conductivity and stability, they are a reliable solution for demanding applications in various industries. As a manufacturer of magnet systems, we attach great importance to quality, precision and customer satisfaction. We work closely with our customers to meet their individual requirements and offer customized solutions.

Handles, hinges, handwheels, clamp handles, knobs or clamping devices - all these are components which are needed virtually everywhere, in mechanical engineering as much as in laboratories, in plant equipment and in the transport sector. Components, many of which come from the Black Forest, directly off the high-rise shelves of the market leader: Otto Ganter GmbH & Co. KG.
Established in Furtwangen in 1894 as a small mechanical workshop, company founder Otto Ganter hit on the idea in 1912 to standardize operating elements - years before the German Industry Norm (DIN) came into being. An idea thriving and growing into a sustained model of success: today, the family-owned company in its fourth generation is present worldwide and keeps on growing. Over 400 people at the company‘s Black Forest headquarters permanently develop new elements, manufacture with ultimate precision and quality and ensure the fastest possible shipping. 85 percent of all orders leave our plant within 24 hours - a speed which sets standards. And with over 60,000 available variants, Ganter offers an unrivalled range and variety of standard parts.
What became known as the Ganter Standard after its launch 100 years ago eventually turned into an indispensable feature in many engineering and construction offices - and with it the Ganter catalogue, showing the entire range of products with all their characteristics on around 1,900 pages in the most recent 17th edition. The Ganter catalogue has long been a much sought-after manual which has successfully helped and accompanied generations of designers and developers. And - this being the digital age - all the data are also available online and can be loaded into all common CAD programs.
If, by any chance, there is a standard part that you need and cannot find in the extensive range of products, the people at Ganter will set to work to close the gap and develop a customized solution. This is also one part of the story which has made Ganter into what it is today: a successful player on the international stage.
Our product range includes raw magnets, magnet systems, lifting magnets, separating magnets, magnetic rubber, magnetic foils, magnetic tapes, magnetic pockets, magnetic symbols, reversible magnets as well as magnetic adhesive surfaces which are applied to non-ferrous surfaces in order to attach magnets to them.
AlNiCo magnets (raw magnets) in different designs
In this category we offer you a selection of selected AlNiCo magnets. Aluminium-nickel-cobalt magnets are not as strong as neodymium-iron-boron magnets, but are largely corrosion-resistant and can be used at temperatures of up to 550 degrees Celsius, depending on the type. However, an AlNiCo magnet has one disadvantage: the low coercivity. Thus the magnetization of AlNiCo magnets can be slightly weakened or erased by external magnetic fields.
AlNiCo magnets are cast or sintered. As a rule, however, cast magnets are used. We can supply AlNiCo magnets in any size and shape that can be produced as a special order. In addition to the main groups "cast" and "sintered" there are also subgroups with different values for the remanence flux density (magnetization strength) and coercivity.

Different type of PERMANENT MAGNET: NdFeB magnets, Ferrite magnets, Alnico magnets,SMCO magnets, etc.,
Sintered Alnico magnets, which are also aluminum nickel-cobalt iron alloys, are usually restricted to smaller sizes. It has slightly lower magnetic properties, but better mechanical strength than cast alnico magnet.
Alnico has a low coercive force, and is easily demagnetized if not handled with care. For optimum performance of Alnico 5, the magnetic length should be approximately 5 times the pole diameter or equivalent diameter. For example, a 0.250” diameter magnet should be about 1.250” long
Application field
Sintered Alnico magnet is widely used in all kinds of sensors, meters, controller speedometer and other applications.
- Flat grippers made of AlNiCo - flat gripper made of AlNiCo-magnetic core up to 450°C with bore and conical cavity
- AlNiCo raw magnets
AlNiCo magnets are very heat resistant magnets. They have a relatively high energy product. As a raw magnet (bar magnet), a length/diameter ratio of 4 to 1 is optimal. AlNiCo magnets are naturally also available from us as a magnet system.
Product features to your advantage:
- Very high temperature resistance of the raw magnets (500°C).
- AlNiCo magnet systems can be used up to 450°C.
- Raw magnets can be regrinded.
- Use in painting and powder coating plants, for flame-cut parts, hot castings or in drying furnaces.
