Mica is a group in the monoclinic crystal system. This contains crystallising silicate minerals containing the composition (K,Na,Ca)(Al,Mg,Fe,Li)2-3(OH)2(Si,Al)4-5O10. Atoms, which can be found in the brackets, can occur in any mixing ratio. However, these are inevitably always in the same relationship to the other atomic groups. This is also referred to as substitution. Mica has a low hardness. They are often found in white, brown, black, pink or green.
