Due to its high temperature resistance, extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, good chemical stability, and comparable bubble, stripe, uniformity, and birefringence to general optical glass, quartz glass is an essential optical material with high stability optical coefficient that works in various harsh environments. Quartz glass plates are widely used in industries such as semiconductors, electro-optical sources, semiconductor communication devices, lasers, optical instruments, laboratory instruments, electrical equipment, medical equipment, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant chemical instruments, chemical engineering, electronics, metallurgy, building materials, and national defense. They have a wide range of applications.
We custom produce precision quartz and optical glass products. Our products include: high precision glass and quartz capillary tubes and rods, quartz glass tubes and rods, quartz and optical glass discs / substrates / wafers, CNC machined quartz parts, quartz instruments, various high precision glass parts, ceramic components etc.
In past years, we have successfully developed primary and secondary drawing production processes based on different glass capillaries requirements. Except the round tubes and rods, we can provide non-circular tubes and rods, like square, rectangular, triangle, half round, with single bore, double bores, triple bores or more bores on cross section. Precision is well controlled according to customer's requirement.
Quartz glass plates are usually colorless and transparent. They can transmit far ultraviolet light, which is the best among all UV transparent materials, as well as visible light and near-infrared spectra. According to its optical performance, it can be divided into three categories:
Far ultraviolet JGS1
Transparent in the ultraviolet and visible spectral ranges; There is no absorption band in the wavelength range of 185-2500nm; There is a strong absorption band in the 2600-2800nm wavelength range; Non luminous, stable light radiation.
UV class JGS2
Transparent in the ultraviolet and visible spectral ranges; There is no absorption band in the frequency range of 200-2500nm; There is a strong absorption band in the 2600-2800nm wavelength range; Non luminous, stable light radiation.
Infrared JGS3
Transparent in the visible and infrared spectral range; There is no obvious absorption band in the 2600-2800nm wavelength range.

In 1910 the company was founded in Berlin as Deutsch-Englische-Quarzschmelze GmbH. Mainly fused silica products were produced for various applications in the then still young and prospering chemical industry.
In 1957, the company relocated to Mainz and was managed there until 1965 as a joint venture of TSL - Thermal Syndicate Ltd. (England) and Jenaer Glaswerke Schott+Genossen (Germany).
In 1965 - in the meantime a wholly owned subsidiary of the TSL Group - the company moved its headquarters to Wiesbaden and from then on operated under the name TQS - Thermal Quarz-Schmelze GmbH.
From this time on, the main focus in Wiesbaden was on the continuous development of infrared quartz emitters and components made of optical quartz glass. Great importance was always attached to close cooperation with customers. Many new developments and improvements could thus be brought to success together over the years.
In 1988, the entire TSL Group was taken over by the French Saint-Gobain Group.
From 2000, the Wiesbaden-based company operated under the name Saint-Gobain Quartz GmbH, Wiesbaden.
In 2009, in the course of a management buyout, the company was able to give itself a legally independent framework under the still well-known logo TQS – Technical Quartz Solutions GmbH -.
The last step in the long history of TQS® took place at the beginning of 2015, when the Frankfurt-based export company VS Technical Supplies GmbH acquired 100 percent of the shares in TQS®.
Today, Mr. Volker Schmidt is responsible for the management.
