In 1910 the company was founded in Berlin as Deutsch-Englische-Quarzschmelze GmbH. Mainly fused silica products were produced for various applications in the then still young and prospering chemical industry.
In 1957, the company relocated to Mainz and was managed there until 1965 as a joint venture of TSL - Thermal Syndicate Ltd. (England) and Jenaer Glaswerke Schott+Genossen (Germany).
In 1965 - in the meantime a wholly owned subsidiary of the TSL Group - the company moved its headquarters to Wiesbaden and from then on operated under the name TQS - Thermal Quarz-Schmelze GmbH.
From this time on, the main focus in Wiesbaden was on the continuous development of infrared quartz emitters and components made of optical quartz glass. Great importance was always attached to close cooperation with customers. Many new developments and improvements could thus be brought to success together over the years.
In 1988, the entire TSL Group was taken over by the French Saint-Gobain Group.
From 2000, the Wiesbaden-based company operated under the name Saint-Gobain Quartz GmbH, Wiesbaden.
In 2009, in the course of a management buyout, the company was able to give itself a legally independent framework under the still well-known logo TQS – Technical Quartz Solutions GmbH -.
The last step in the long history of TQS® took place at the beginning of 2015, when the Frankfurt-based export company VS Technical Supplies GmbH acquired 100 percent of the shares in TQS®.

Optical Lenses are optical components designed to focus or diverge light. Optical Lenses, which may consist of a single or multiple elements, are used in a wide variety of applications from microscopy to laser processing. Many industries utilize Optical Lenses, including life sciences, imaging, industrial, or defense. As light passes through a lens, it is affected by the lens’ profile or substrate. A Plano-Convex (PCX) or Double-Convex (DCX) lens causes light to focus to a point, while a Plano-Concave (PCV) or Double-Concave (DCV) lens causes the light traveling through the lens to diverge.
