Hot melt strapping is a polyester textile strapping where polyester yarns are glued. It is produced on core 76 mm for standard packaging purposes as well as on core 63 mm and with less meters per roll for baling presses. If packaging goods have sharp edges, woven or composite strapping should be used instead of the glued hot melt strapping.
Please find below a list of standard specifications for WG hot melt polyester textile strapping; other dimensions can be produced upon demand!

Woven Strapping Band consists of polyester filaments and distinguishes itself from the glued polyester filaments-band (Hot-Melt-Band) which is widely known. The tensile strength values of both (Hot-Melt versus Woven Strapping Band) are the same, and yet it happens that ordinary polyester strapping breaks in some cases, whereas woven strapping remains stable. This is due so the structure of woven strapping which cannot be severed by sharp-edged goods. This is why woven strapping is extremely popular for example among customers who need do bundle sharp-edged sawn timber.
In addition to PET strapping, polyester textile strapping is an attractive alternative to steel strapping. Polyester textile straps are less expensive with the same tearing force, without the risk of damage to the packaged goods by rust or sharp edges. If a lot of strapping is done, PET-textile strapping is preferable as an alternative to steel strapping, as battery strapping tools allow a more efficient use of PET-strapping. If, on the other hand, you do not need much strapping and do not want to invest in a battery strapping tool, then textile strapping is the right choice. These consist of polyester threads, which are either glued (hot melt), cross-weaved or coated with a plastic layer (composite tape).
Another advantage of polyester tape as a thread structure tape (polyester threads are glued), woven tape or composite tape is the fact that the tape can be retensioned at any time. Therefore, it enjoys great popularity, especially with customers who strap wood, for example. This is because if the wood dries out during the storage period, it loses volume and a steel strapping or extruded polyester strapping, i.e. PET strapping, would therefore become loose without the possibility of re-tensioning. With polyester thread tape, on the other hand, retensioning is possible. Since it is also UV-protected, it is also ideal for outdoor storage. For sharp-edged packages, such as sawn lumber, it is recommended that woven polyester strapping or composite strapping be used, as this is optimally protected due to its cross-woven structure or plastic coating. The glued polyester thread structure tape, on the other hand, would simply be cut through by the sharp-edged package.
Closed is polyester textile tape with so-called metal clamps, also called tensioning buckles. A distinction is made between galvanized and phosphated clamping buckles. The galvanized version is the less expensive and should be used with composite tape and polyester thread structure tape (glued). Woven strapping, on the other hand, should always be used with phosphated tensioning buckles to achieve optimum system strength values. This is because the woven strap has a smooth surface that would not adhere optimally to the galvanized buckles - but it does to the roughened surface of the phosphated metal clamps. However, as experience has taught us that most customers still use their woven belt with galvanized tensioning buckles, when manufacturing original LINSTRAP woven belt, we have installed a cold glue basin after the weaving process, through which the belt is passed. This makes it stiffer and it also adheres better to the smooth galvanized metal clamps.
