Papers
Paper production is one of the oldest cultural achievements of mankind. Paper production began in China - at first production was carried out manually in the so-called vat. Today, paper by additives is a modern material used not only for writing and packaging.paper - a modern materialpaper is made from fibrous starting materials such as wood. The raw material is mechanically comminuted and broken down into its fibrous components with temperature and water. This mixture of substances is then passed through a sieve, which produces paper. Additives give the paper the properties required of a modern material. For example, paper is bleached with chlorine or smoothed with fillers. Today paper can be found in all economic sectors, even if it only concerns the packaging of products. Paper is light and stable and also has some advantages for the environment: Paper is optimally recyclable and is produced from renewable raw materials. Today paper is not only used for writing and packaging. Additives can even make paper conductive and will play a major role in printed electronics in the future.Paper - a modern materialPaper is made from fibrous starting materials such as wood. Today paper is not only used for writing and packaging. Additives can even make paper conductive and will play a major role in printed electronics in the future. Uses of paper Paper belongs to our life today, even though computers and iPad will not lose its importance in the next decades. The production and use of paper began before the beginning of our era more than 2,000 years ago. Papyrus, leaves of a reed-like plant, was already described by the ancient Egyptians. However, history ascribes the invention of paper to the Chinese. The oldest paper made of hemp has been found in graves from the Han Dynasty, dated about 100 BC. In 105 A.D., the Chinese minister described a process for paper production that is still used in a similar way today. The material paper is made from vegetable fibres that are flushed up by water. Felting, gluing and pressing create a flat material that can be excellently printed and described. In the past, paper was created by hand and watermarked. Paper only began its triumphant advance as a commodity with industrial production. The fields of application of paper and all related materials such as cardboard and cardboard are very diverse. Invoices and business letters in DIN A4 format play an important role in all economic areas. But paper is also used in other sizes, such as large oversized construction drawings in DIN A2 format, or as business cards. The paper has excellent properties here. The material is very versatile, its use is very variable due to different paper weights. The paper opacity is very high, it is not translucent. Paper sheets can be easily described, printed, painted, varnished, embossed, etched or perforated. Through intelligent recycling, it can be reconditioned and reused. Paper is inexpensive due to the composition of its raw materials. It is easy to transport and can be bought everywhere. In Germany, the dimensions of paper were standardized according to DIN, which also facilitates the archiving of documents. Unfortunately, it has to be said that many years of storage make the papers age, the papers turn yellow. Also the slight burning of the material is a disadvantage here.In addition to administration, the packaging industry is a large consumer of the material. Paper carrier bags and paper bags are often made from recycled material. Paper tablecloths, cardboard boxes and envelopes are other products made from the waste paper collected in large paper containers.
