This technology enables the economic production of lightweight components in large series. KUZ developed sandwich-like lightweight components as demonstrators for flat, shell-shaped applications with load-bearing or load-bearing function. Their special characteristic is their higher weight-specific bending stiffness compared to a component made of compact material. This in turn results in a significant lightweight construction effect. The lightweight components are interesting for many new applications: reduction of moving masses in mobile systems, applications in general mechanical engineering and technical components with load-bearing functions.
