Until the invention of book printing by Johannes Gutenberg in 1440, it was the only way of written reproductions. Gutenberg's rich discovery initiated a revolution in technology. In a short time, books were produced in high volumes. Many rulers thought that books emanated a social or political explosion. To date, many publications are subjet to bans through to incineration.

The book was taken up for all areas of life. It has never lost its appeal. It accompanies us as a beloved children's book, followed by the textbook to the most modern books: the E-Books.
