The pre-treatment protects against corrosion and increases the adhesion of the powder coating.
Aluminium parts are first cleaned with an alkaline or ultrasonic degreasing. In the alkaline solution organic impurities such as oil, grease, wax as well as inorganic impurities such as metal abrasion are optimally removed. In ultrasonic baths impurities are "blasted away".
So we can remove dirt even in difficult, small corners and cavities.
Afterwards the parts are rinsed in three basins with clear and fully desalinated water (cascade rinsing). This is followed by pickling or deoxidation. With this treatment the surface is roughened again to make the powder coating stick better. Another cascade flush is followed by passivation. This enables us to achieve optimum protection against corrosion. The process is more modern and environmentally friendly than chromating with toxic chrome components. After a final rinse, the aluminium parts are extensively dried before they are powder coated.
