In almost every German household there is a washing machine for washing your own clothes. People are increasingly looking for an energy efficiency class when purchasing new equipment in order to save electricity in later use. Devices with the green designation A or AA have the highest savings potential.When using the washing machine at home, power consumption can also be kept to a minimum. The unit should only be switched on when the drum is full of dirty laundry. Slightly soiled linen does not necessarily have to be washed at 60 degrees, 40 degrees is sufficient in many cases. In this way the washing process is considerably shortened and the laundry becomes just as clean at the end. The washing of rinsing cloths and handkerchiefs should be done at 90 degrees, in order to kill existing bacteria safely on this way.For safety the water tap to the machine should be closed after the washing, because otherwise the hose for the inflow would be constantly under pressure. Water damage is often associated with considerable consequences when absent. A second possibility is the installation of a safety valve. Here, when water escapes, the inflow is automatically blocked.
