Turntable ladders are standard equipment for almost every fire brigade today. It is the most important lifting vehicle to free people trapped by fire on higher floors. It is more common today than the telescopic mast. A whole system of individual ladders hangs from the turntable ladder basket, which can be extended by motor force if required or in use. This engine, either on the vehicle itself or in the basket, must be operated manually by a specialist. The ladder system with the basket can be rotated through 360° so that the aerial ladder can be used particularly well and reliably. Various supports can be extended laterally to prevent tipping over. They stabilize the entire rescue process. In general terms, all aerial conductor models have the same purpose, but there are different types with different designations, but they all comply with the standard. There are different intervention points for the aerial ladder. On the one hand, trapped persons can be safely transported to the bottom. On the other hand, it can also be used for extinguishing work at certain heights, as well as for optimal illumination of the location. At certain connection points, fans can also be used to ventilate smoky, i.e. fire-damaged rooms, or also to protect your own crew. The units on the inside can use the turntable ladder as an emergency exit on certain windows.
