High-security mechanical double-bitted key locks precision-built to meet your security requirements
Mechanical locks for safes or high-security doors have to meet high technical standards. Following intensive testing, VdS, the German Association of Casualty Insurers, have granted their approval in recognition of the locks' extremely high break-in and manipulation resistance. SECU's high-security mechanical locks are rated to VdS Classes 1(A), 2(B) and 3(C) and are, therefore, suitable for installation in safe doors up to a grade XII resistance. Designed with additional security features, our non-key-changeable and key-changeable safe locks and the keys to be used with them allow us to achieve an extremely high degree of manipulation resistance. When it comes to selecting a key set for his safe, the user can chose between different key lengths and types, and stipulate the number of keys he requires.

Description:
EN 12209:2016 is the European standard for mechanically operated door locks and lock plates in building hardware, numbered EN 12209:2016, the full name is "Building hardware. Mechanically operated locks and locking plates. Requirements and test methods".
Scope of application:
Applicable to all types of mechanical locks or latches used for pedestrian doors in buildings (including related or separately provided lock plates), but does not include electromechanically operated locks and strikers, multi-point locks and their lock plates, window locks, padlocks, safe locks, furniture locks and prison locks.
Performance requirements:
Durability:
It is divided into multiple levels according to different usage scenarios and requirements, such as F level is 50,000 tests, 10N lateral force of the inclined tongue; G level is 100,000 tests, 10N lateral force of the inclined tongue, etc.
Strength requirements:
There are regulations on the external forces that locks and lock plates can withstand, such as resisting the forces generated by pushing and pulling doors, etc., to ensure that they will not be damaged or deformed under normal use and a certain degree of external force impact.
Security:
It involves the ability to prevent illegal opening, etc. Although the standard does not specify the specific anti-theft level in detail, there are requirements for the structure of the lock, the strength and extension length of the lock tongue, etc., to ensure its basic safety performance. For example, the deadbolt must be able to withstand certain lateral forces, end loads, etc. after relevant tests.
Fire/smoke resistance:
It is divided into level 0 (not approved for fire/smoke door components) and level 1 (applicable to fire/smoke door components tested by EN 1634-1, etc.).
Corrosion resistance and use temperature:
The corrosion resistance level is divided into 8 levels, from level 0 without clear corrosion resistance requirements to level D with extra-high corrosion resistance requirements; in terms of use temperature, some levels have requirements from -20℃ to specific temperatures.

Classification code:
An 11-digit classification system is used to classify mechanically operated locks, latches and lock plates. For example, the 4th digit indicates whether it is suitable for use with fire doors, the 5th digit indicates safety, and the 6th digit indicates corrosion resistance and operating temperature.
Test methods:
The standard details various test methods for door locks, including simulating the opening and closing operations in daily use, applying forces in different directions and sizes, and testing in specific temperatures and corrosive environments to evaluate whether the door locks meet the corresponding performance requirements.
