The parcel service delivers parcels and packages, so it is a service provider. Most parcel services have standardized shipping, so they can handle very large quantities of parcels. All parcels up to just over 31kg are usually transported and delivered by the parcel service, for heavy packages a forwarding agency must be commissioned. Almost all parcel services pick up the packages from the sender and deliver them to the recipient as quickly as possible. As these parcel services operate nationwide throughout Germany and in some cases beyond, dispatch usually only takes 1-2 working days. Another reason for the short running times are the work steps of these service providers, which are carried out in a strictly defined sequence. From the moment the package is received by the driver, an experienced machine starts up. The driver takes the collected parcels to the collection point, where they are sorted by postcode and then invited again by a driver responsible for the respective areas and taken to the designated place, where there is also a collection point. Here they are sorted again and finally delivered by the responsible courier.
