Anodic printing is a process of surface finishing for specially treated
aluminium. The initially open-pored anodised shield layer of the
aluminium plate can be printed on directly and is sealed in a hot-water
bath at about 97°C. The temperature in this so called Seal Bath induces
the voluminious extension of the printed material and thus the sealing
of the pores in the oxide layer. As a result of the sealing process the
embedded print is extremely resistant to chemical, mechanical and
thermal stress. Even graffiti can be removed with corresponding
detergents without harming the print.
