The word fabrics is derived from the old French term estoffe and means fabric. The term fabrics is multifunctional. Fabrics are textile fibres which are woven, knitted, knitted. The term matter is also used in physics and philosophy and means everything that is matter. In literature and film, the term material is used in the sense of subject or material. Fabrics as textiles are made of a wide variety of materials. The first fabrics were woven from flax into linen. Wool was also processed into fabric. Later silk fabrics were brought from the Far East. These fabrics were spun from the threads of the silkworm. Velvet and brocade fabrics initially came from China. We also woven cotton fabrics from India or Africa. Cotton fabrics were also produced in these countries and transported in bales on ships. Later the chemical industry developed material from which Perlon, Dederon and other synthetic fibres were made. Today, most textile fabrics are provided with a chemical fibre.
