The SP2L series high feed cutters presented here are an addition to the already existing SN2R (45°), SM2R (60°) heavy hogger series, but with an angle of attack of only 13° to minimize radial forces. This enables feed rates of up to 7000 mm/min, with a maximum cutting depth of 3.5 mm, at a chip volume of up to 34 cm³/KW on correspondingly powerful machines. The increased axial component of the cutting force makes it possible to extend machine performance even under extreme overhang conditions without the control system stopping due to vibrations.
