Control systems are also known as SCADA systems. They are used to manage the production of parts and related processes and operations. Examples of this are power generation and transport technology. A control system is therefore a complex temporal and materially content-related planning and actual process system. This displays it clearly and controls the human intervention and supports and enables its use. The support of human intervention distinguishes the system from an automated solution. This works automatically on the basis of a target/actual comparison and by means of sensor signals and their reactions. A conductor system can also be used to produce a process overview, as it has a large number of sensors. These also use automatic systems and thus enable the control of actuators. It is not completely automatic, but must be controlled and instructed to function by humans. Thus, a control system can also be regarded as a human-machine interface. However, such a system only works as well as the operator's abilities allow. It is important that there is no over- or underload on either side, otherwise the quality will suffer. Factors such as clarity and reaction speed are very important here. For these reasons, semi-automatic systems are often used or integrated into existing machines. This offers condensed preliminary results and usually also calculates graphic-visual representations of the collected data to support the control console operator. Decisions are made by the control console operator and, depending on his possibilities, appropriate functions are also initiated. These tasks require a highly detailed analysis of the tasks, i.e. a system analysis. Depending on the control task, the appropriate input and output parameters are determined. Based on this data and the underlying resources such as capacity, storage area and flow rates, suggestions and, if necessary, alternatives are often offered to the operator. These are then modified and selected. Control systems are used, for example, as air traffic control systems, but also for the production control of mechanical and metal-cutting production with a surface overview of the machines, their occupancy, their shift availability, their maintenance intervals, their CNC program availability, as well as their tool and device availability. In addition, there are important factors such as throughput capacity, energy consumption and equipment data, such as the use of cooling lubricants and temperature and vibration measurements of critical components. Such systems are also used for loading gases and liquids at a petroleum port terminal. Further areas of application are the power distribution of a power supply company, the process control of a kiln plant in a cement plant and the baggage distribution in an airport. Control systems are therefore also understood in industry as complex systems consisting of hardware and software. These serve to monitor and control the respective process, as well as production and distribution. Basically, these systems can be found, for example, in the automotive industry, in power generation and distribution, as well as in water supply, telecommunications and security technology. In general, process control systems can be subdivided into network control technology and building control technology. The software used here is increasingly being used on private computer systems to ensure process control and monitoring via programmable logic controllers and telecontrol systems.
