We have implemented the corresponding, short-circuit-proof depot feed; the multiple unit is supplied with 670 V DC via a single socket. The maximum output is 335 kW, the continuous output 250 kW. Our control technology ensures that the depot supply can be switched off within 100 ms even under full load - to safely avert potential hazards, e.g. if the plug is unintentionally pulled out. Of course the operational feed-in and the depot feed-in are mutually interlocked.
The trains of the 3rd generation, ICE-3 and ICE-T, have a train busbar with 670 V DC. Auxiliary operations and comfort consumers (air conditioning) in the depot can be supplied and tested via this train busbar without the need for a contact wire. Both trains require a very high constancy of the external supply; including the dynamic control deviations due to load jumps, only voltage deviations of a maximum of 7 % upwards and 12 % downwards are permitted on the entire train busbar
