Money is a state-approved means of payment transactions for the modern economy. It fulfils various functions. Online banking via the Internet plays a major role here. Money occurs either in the form of cash or as book money. Book money is mainly represented by money on accounts with banks and savings banks. Nowadays, so-called electronic money plays an important role. This money is offered to us in the form of cashless payment forms, such as credit cards. This form of money has a great future, as the intended introduction of the Electronic Cash Card shows.The state order of the monetary system is called currency and is influenced by many economic and political factors. Nowadays, the concept of currency goes far beyond national borders. The euro, the money of an entire community of states, is an example of this. The Central Bank is responsible for the management and control of the money or currency. In the case of the euro, these are the central banks of the respective member states and the European Central Bank.
