Cash drawers are drawers in which the change for the cash register is stored. These can usually be found at a cash desk. The cashier of a shop is assigned a cash drawer at the start of work. With this they then go to their workplace. The cash drawer is connected to the cash register system by a snap system. As a rule, the cashier"logs" into the system and when leaving the checkout area to replenish goods, for example, he"logs out" again or blocks the system from external users. This also serves the purpose of security and is intended to prevent third parties from misappropriating money in the cash drawer. At the end of the day, the cashier removes the cash drawer and takes it to the back of the shop for settlement with the main cashier. The unused cash drawers are stored in a safe, so that, if necessary, another cashier can"open" a cash register quickly and customers do not have to wait too long. Cash drawers are additionally secured by a lock, because if they are not in the cash system they cannot be opened without a key at the first and should protect against theft at the second.
