Props are objects used in acting, film and television productions and also in photography, which are intended to perfect the impression. Some props are indispensable for the plot, in other cases they represent the decoration. Together with the stage design, the lighting, the mask and the costumes, props form the equipment at the theatre. If an object is smaller than a piece of furniture, one speaks of a prop. The same applies to jewellery that the actor does not wear on his body.A prop may not always be fully usable. In the theatre, for example, common firearms are usually manipulated in such a way that real bullets can no longer be fired with them. The same applies to swords and thrust weapons. Others are not to be used at all. Props are sometimes the main protagonists in one piece, for example in the "Broken Jug". In most cases, however, props are used to create a harmonious overall picture.props are stored in a theatre's fundus. There they form an illustrative collection over the years. The stewards of the props are the props. Their tasks include the procurement or manufacture of the required items. They are also responsible for pyrotechnical and other optical effects, such as fog, which cannot be assigned to light.
