GETA mbH در سال 1986 توسط مهندس فارغ التحصیل (FH) Robert Buhmann در Wangen im Allgäu تاسیس شد. بر اساس روحیه توسعه آشکار، تمرکز روشن بر راه حل ها و تخصص فنی، geta به سرعت به عنوان یک تولید کننده واجد شرایط راه حل های داخلی برای وسایل نقلیه ریلی نامی به خود داد.
