Turbines are so-called gyroscopic machines. In technology, these are also referred to as fluid energy machines. Its main function is to convert kinetic energy of fluids or gases into rotational movements. Thus, these machine types are also counted as fluid flow machines. Turbines are among the largest technical developments designed by humans. Their maximum usable power can be up to 1.5 gigawatts. When the respective material flows into the turbine interior, turbulence-free laminar flow occurs, due to the special shape of the turbine blades. Part of the angular momentum is thus withdrawn from the current. This is transferred to the blades of the turbine system. This causes them to rotate. The resulting power is delivered by a connected machine, such as a generator. A constant torque of the generator ensures a constant torque of the turbine.
