Prior Scientific has been manufacturing precision optical and electromechanical devices and instruments for over 100 years.

As a leader in the development of systems for precision motion control and microscope automation, we work closely with our partners and customers to develop customized optical and automation systems and offer a wide range of standard microscope components.

We work with system integrators and OEMs to develop prototypes, customized products, and complete imaging system solutions according to individual customer requirements for a wide variety of applications. Our integrated design and manufacturing facilities enable us to seamlessly transition from concepts to production systems. Typical applications for our products include photonics, life science research, materials science, nanotechnology, medical devices, metrology, and semiconductor manufacturing.

We design, develop, and manufacture our products at our ISO 9001:2015-certified facilities in the UK and the US. Regional offices in Germany, Japan, and China provide additional global support.

The company i.v.b. – Antriebstechnik GmbH was founded in 1996 and is a trading company in automation technology with special products for solving complex tasks in drive technology.
The product range consists in particular of a large number of innovative stepper motors, mechatronic drive systems, intelligent electronic stepper motor controls and customized solutions for a wide variety of applications.
We have an extensive selection of products with different performance features in our range so that their use offers the greatest possible benefit for our customers.

Our company was founded as a GbR in 1996 and converted into the legal form of a GmbH in 1999.
We have been the German representative of the Swiss company Sonceboz S.A. since 2000 and have been their system partner since 2001. We have also been working successfully with our technology partner S.H.S. Italy since 2000.
