W.U. H.Fernholz GmbH & Co. Ltd.-t 1963-ban alapította a Werner és a Helmut Fernholz testvérek. A műanyag termékek gyártása fröccsöntő gépben kezdődik. Később hozzáadták a hőformázási folyamatot. A hőformázó termékek előállítását meghatározó lemezekkel fokozatosan kialakul a harmadik gyártási folyamat, az extrudálás. A közvetlen nyomtatást, a címkéket és az IML-t később vezették be.
1972-ben megnyílt az első termelési csarnok a Meinerzhagen Ehne Ipari Parkban. A következő években a termelési és raktározási területek tovább bővültek.
2002-ben Frank és Uwe Fernholz, a Werner Brothers és a Helmut Fernholz testvérek két fia átvette a vállalat vezetését.
2006-ban a Meinerzhagenben a nyersanyag-silórendszer és a nyersanyag-tároló kapacitás jelentősen bővült.
2009-ben a Schkopau lemezgyártó üzem üzembe helyezése után a második hatékonyabb gyártási bázist mintegy 20 alkalmazottal és a legmodernebb polisztirol, polipropilén és többrétegű lemezes extrudáló rendszerekkel hozták létre.
Ma termelésünk a tejtermékek és az élelmiszeripar lapjaira és csészéire összpontosít. Folyamatosan elemezzük az új anyagokat és feldolgozási eljárásokat.
