Signore e signori,

l'azienda ABT Sportsline è oggi il più grande tuner di veicoli per il Gruppo VW e Audi e realizza anche numerose attività motoristiche per il marchio con i quattro anelli. In un'azienda con più di 125 anni di storia, tuttavia, anche l'ieri conta, e noi siamo radicati in esso. Ritengo che le radici siano importanti per stare in piedi in modo sicuro, ma non devono legarci al terreno. I miei antenati avevano già preso a cuore questo motto. Uno di loro, Johann Abt, fondò nel 1896 una "fucina di innovazioni" nel vero senso della parola: invece di limitarsi a produrre ferri di cavallo e a riparare carrozze trainate da cavalli, inventò una carrozza che poteva essere utilizzata anche come slitta nei rigidi inverni nevosi - un vero ibrido, in altre parole. Da allora, la nostra azienda familiare ha continuato a evolversi. Come un torrente di montagna che macina un sasso e si spinge un po' alla volta in acque sempre più grandi, lo spirito innovativo di molte generazioni ci ha portato sempre più avanti. L'amore per le auto è entrato nei nostri cuori e nelle nostre menti fin da subito.
Quando il nipote del fondatore, Johann Abt, partecipò alla sua prima gara automobilistica nel 1950 e gettò le basi per le nostre attività motoristiche, l'AUTO-ABT esisteva già da tempo a Kempten. Mio padre apprezzava le auto veloci anche nella vita di tutti i giorni. Per questo motivo ha fondato ABT Tuning nel 1967. Nel 1978 ha messo a punto la prima VW Golf e già nel 1980 ha introdotto sul mercato il primo chip tuning. Poi le cose sono andate di bene in meglio. Nel 1991 è stata finalmente inaugurata la nuova sede di rappresentanza dell'azienda nell'attuale Johann-Abt-Straße, che nel 2014 è stata ampliata con un imponente centro per gli sport motoristici e ospita anche un proprio museo.
Anche mio figlio Daniel Abt sta seguendo le orme lasciate da me e da tutta una serie di antenati impegnati. Ma da tempo ha anche lasciato il suo segno e si è messo al passo con i tempi: sia come youtuber che come ABT Sportsline
