In the beginning, no one would have anticipated what the future founder of GLT-Gleitlagertechnik, Mr Hallauer, would once create out of his passion for the sliding technology.
As a twelve-year-old, Mr Hallauer dreamed of becoming an actor. Instead, he was supposed to take over his family’s iron trade business in Austria. After finishing a commercial education, he gained experience from several internships in the metal working sector and in parallel started working in his grandfather´s company.
Soon he was drawn to Germany to deepen his knowledge of metal technology, especially of non-ferrous metal. For many years he worked as a successful sales representative for well-known companies such as ‘Metallwerk J. G. Schwietzke’ and the ‘Mittelrheinische Metallgiesserei’.

In the end he refused taking over the family business due to his desire of founding his own enterprise in the sliding bearing sector.
The „Ludwig Hallauer GmbH“ was established in 1982 and specialized in trading and producing metal and compound plastic sliding bearings.
Growing at a rapid rate the company moved and expanded its premises and warehouse more than once in order to meet the increased customers’ demands and rising number of employees.
In 2004 Mr Hallauer split the product range, which had grown extensively in the meantime.
Ever since GLT-GleitLagerTechnik GmbH has become one of the largest providers of sliding bearings in Europe. The product range covers steel, bronze, stainless steel or bi-metal sliding bearings as well as sintered metal bushings.
The sister company LHG-GleitlagerKomponenten GmbH & Co. KG specializes in all kinds of compound plastic, solid steel or bronze bearings as well as wrapped spring steel bearings. Furthermore LHG can offer spherical plain bearings, rod ends and special sliding alloys.
Both companies can produce customized dimensions or formed components on demand.
The continuous expansion of warehouse capacity renders the possibility to store sufficient quantities of bestselling items and thus react to the customer’s requirements immediately.

Da oltre 25 anni siamo specializzati nella ricerca e nello sviluppo di soluzioni idonee a soddisfare le esigenze di aziende in diversi settori merceologici e nella produzione
di cuscinetti in Cina.
Dal 2002 la LFD possiede due fabbriche a Ningbo Cixi in Cina dove vengono prodotti sia cuscinetti standard che cuscinetti speciali secondo le richieste.
Il nostro ufficio di Shanghai funge da congiunzione fra la Cina e la casa madre di Dortmund da dove vengono gestiti e coordinati i centri di produzione, il laboratorio di controllo qualità e la spedizione delle merci. I nostri cuscinetti sono tecnicamente qualificati secondo le correnti normative ISO-DIN.
Il nostro laboratorio a Dortmund è in grado di effettuare ulteriori e più severi controlli sulla qualità, in base alle esigenze specifiche di ogni cliente. Ingegneri qualificati emettono certificati di controllo qualità e documenti di collaudo prima campionatura dei quali catalogano le specifiche.
Il commercio in Germania è gestito dalla casa madre di Dortmund e dalla filiale di Lipsia della LFD Kugellager GmbH.
Le nostre filiali LFD Cuscinetti Srl in Italia e la LFD Rodamientos de Precisión S.L. in Spagna insieme alle ns rappresentanze in Polonia , Ungheria, Repubblica ceca, Olanda e Francia sono i nostri distributori in Europa mentre tutti i paesi oltreoceano vengono gestiti da Dortmund o direttamente da Shanghai.
Il nostro magazzino di oltre 5000 m2 a Dortmund è in grado di garantire consegne "Just in Time” in tutta Europa. Una moderna pianificazione e gestione di produzione sono il ns standard per gestire ordini in Canban.
Tutti i paesi oltreoceano vengono forniti direttamente dal nostro magazzino di oltre 4.000 m2 in Cina. Su Vostra richiesta, sono possibili anche importazioni dirette in Europa.
