Achenbach GmbH è specializzata nella progettazione, costruzione, installazione e manutenzione di caldaie a vapore e della relativa tecnologia impiantistica. Nel 1890 fu fondata la fucina di caldaie Achenbach & Sohn. Nel 1987 è diventato Achenbach GmbH. Da oltre 125 anni, il nome Achenbach è sinonimo di competenza nelle caldaie a vapore.
La rivoluzione industriale prese il via con lo sviluppo della macchina a vapore. L'energia del vapore generato nelle caldaie a vapore veniva utilizzata come forza motrice per le macchine e per il riscaldamento. In questo contesto, Heinrich Achenbach fondò una fucina di caldaie a Plettenberg-Ohle nel 1890.
