With the establishment of a design office for special machinery, Dr. Ing. Heinrich Collin laid the foundation for the company Dr. Collin GmbH. Many things have been changing since then.

W.U. H. Fernholz는 1963년에 Werner와 Helmut Fernholz 형제에 의해 설립되었다. 플라스틱 제품의 생산은 사출 기계에서 시작된다. 나중에 열성형 공법이 추가되었다. 열성형 제품의 판재를 직접 생산하기로 결정함에 따라, 세번째 생산 과정인 밀어내기가 점차 만들어진다. 곧이어 직접 인쇄, 라벨, IML이 도입되었다.
1972년에 메이너즈하겐에 있는 아이언 공단에 첫 생산실이 개설되었다. 그 후 몇 년 동안 생산 및 창고 지역이 확대되었다.
2002년에 베르너 형제와 헬무트 퍼른홀츠 형제의 두 아들인 프랭크와 우위 퍼른홀츠가 회사의 경영진을 인수했다.
2006년, 마이너즈하겐에서는 원료 사일로 시스템과 원료 저장 능력이 크게 확장되었다.
2009년 Schkopau 판자 생산 공장이 가동되면서, 약 20명의 직원과 가장 현대적인 폴리스티렌, 폴리프로필렌, 다층 판자 압출 시스템을 갖춘 두 번째 생산기지가 설립되었다.
