Gussasphalt in stable facilities
Gussasphalt is a traditional building product for stable floors and is described by the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture as "very animal-friendly".
It offers all the requirements that are placed on a stable floor. Compared to concrete, mastic asphalt has a low thermal conductivity, which means that little body heat is extracted from animals when they lie down. Mastic asphalt is known as a robust stable floor and does not require any treatment beyond the usual cleaning and care. It is therefore easy to clean and maintain. Vermin, bacteria and any kind of moisture have no chance to penetrate the mastic asphalt, which is particularly beneficial for hygiene requirements. The mechanical stress to which the animals are subjected by kicking and stamping means that the floor must be particularly hard-wearing. Sure-footed walking is guaranteed in any case.
Gussasphalt is not only a stable floor, but also many zoological gardens use the animal-friendly properties for numerous animal enclosures.
