Wood windows, more than just wood
Wood windows, an ideal solution for environmentally conscious consumers. Since wood is a natural product, the quality of the window varies. Further quality criteria are the type of wood, the processing of the wood and the painting. Optical criteria can be cracks in the wood, knotholes or colour differences. Only technically perfect woods are used for the construction of wooden windows. 

In order to build a window torsionally rigid and stable in itself, only solid wood is used. In general, solid wood for the construction of wooden windows is differentiated into 2 types of profiles. The solid wood profile and the laminated profile, better known as the scantling profile. The scantlings allow a greater utilization of the raw material wood with constant quality and are used more and more in the construction of new windows. Squaring is the process of joining high quality shredded wood together in the form of lamellas. This means that optical deficits in the middle of the component can disappear and only the "flawless" wood shines on the outside. Softwoods or hardwoods are considered suitable as a starting material for the construction of such windows.

Examples for these tree species are pine, spruce, larch or also fir. Furthermore Hemlock or Pine can be used. The use of such woods is an alternative and ecological trend to tropical woods and thus makes a valuable contribution to the preservation of the tropical forest.
