Drying in a Continuous Process
Continuous drying processes have their specific requirements and challenges. We modify our dehumidification module to meet the requirements of your product and throughput. For continuous drying within specified cycle time, the air routeing must be fine-tuned to suit the specific product. Even the driest air is of no avail unless directed to the spot where humidity is to be absorbed. And this is exactly what we successfully implement.
Continuous drying on a belt or in a tunnel involves openings at the entrance and exit ends. Such openings must be considered when calculating the water absorption performance. We always try to minimize openings in the drying chamber to prevent undesired air loss and to keep the system as closed as possible. Continuous drying processes most often follow the so-called countercurrent principle.
Upstream Non-compressed Air Blowing
We offer optional non-compressed air blowing for special applications, as a preliminary stage to a proper drying process. Proprietary blowing nozzles are used for air blowing.

Dr.-Ing. Dirk-H. Fricke and Dipl.-Ing. Marcel Mallah studied electrical engineering with a focus on high frequency technology and subsequently gained experience in scientific and industrial environments.
They used this experience when they decided to found Fricke und Mallah Microwave Technology GmbH in 1995. Since then, Fricke und Mallah has established itself as a reliable partner for industry and research.
We have already built high-quality microwave systems with microwave power of up to 1 MW for the wood, ceramics, plastics and food industries. This includes microwave heating systems where the microwave heating chamber can be fully electrically lifted to allow 100% accessibility for cleaning and maintenance. The microwave generators and antennas used, with individual power ratings of up to 20 kW, are manufactured in-house. Other activities include the development of power electronics and microwave-specific measurement technology.
In our professional department for depth modeling of electromagnetic and temperature fields, 7 high-frequency engineers mainly work with the software CST® and COMSOL® in order to bring customer and research projects to success in a plannable way with well-founded and realistic simulations. They complement our very effective and innovative mechanical and electrical design departments.
A microwave measurement station, an EMC chamber and numerous microwave laboratory ovens and temperature measurement devices are available for preliminary investigations and development tasks. There is also close contact with the Institute for Electrothermal Process Technology at the University of Hanover, which is intensively involved in the simulation of thermal and electromagnetic fields.
Meanwhile, we are one of the world's leading manufacturers of microwave generators and systems (heating and plasma systems) based on solid-state microwave technology. At present, we produce and offer microwave generators based on solid state microwave technology in the power range of 250 W - 6 kW and the frequency ranges of 915 and 2450 MHz. Our solid state microwave generators are equipped with special technical intelligence for automatic and very fast power adjustment and homogeneous field distribution. These generators can be combined with compact RF combiners that allow the generation of higher microwave powers on a single port. The solid-state microwave generators feature automatic electronic power matching (no more mechanical 3-stub tuners needed!) in less than a few milliseconds.
In the area of magnetron technology, Fricke and Mallah supplies individual microwave components (waveguides, tuning elements such as manual and motorized 3-stub tuners, isolators, etc.) and the appropriate power supply, in addition to custom-configured magnetron heads in compact packages. Our low ripple switching power supplies in 2 kW / 2.45 GHz, 3 kW / 2.45 GHz, 6 kW / 2.45 GHz and 5 kW / 915 MHz are ideally suited for monitoring and controlling all important magnetron operating parameters such as high voltage and current. This ensures that the magnetron always operates at the ideal operating point (longer life).
The production area increased by 1,250m² in 2016 as part of a building expansion, while the office complex covers 1,200m² on 3 floors. The technical extensions include the complete Bekranung of the production hall, as well as an electrical supply up to 1 Mega Watt. This allows microwave systems with installed power up to 600 kW to be tested in continuous operation.
