PTL Hermann GmbH develops and manufactures vibration type level switches for detecting the presence or absence of powdered or granular solids that are stored in all kinds of silos, hoppers and containers. The products get distributed worldwide.
Principle of operation:
a vibrating system gets forced to vibrate on its resonance frequency by a piezo crystal drive. If filling material, (bulk solids), covers the vibrating blade of the probe, its vibration gets damped. This is sensed by the electronic circuit and the output switches. When the blade gets uncovered due to declining level, the instrument restarts to vibrate and the output switches back.

Vibrating level switch for powdered and granular solids with high process temperatures up to 250°C. Process connection 11/2", insertion lengths 184mm up to 4m.

The instruments can be used for overfill protection, for high or low level alarm and in a special configuration for the detection of interfaces, e.g. sand that has settled in water (special model SEDIMENT).

Soliphant FTM50 is a robust point level switch for use in silos containing fine-grained or powdery solids even with a low bulk density. Suitable for a wide range of applications with international certificates for use in dust or gas hazardous areas. Available with polished fork and stainless steel housing with Tri-Clamp or with aluminum housing and coated fork.
