Requirement In the food industry, industrial robots are increasingly used - even in wet areas. Optoelectronic sensors detect the goods and control the conveyor belts. A safe connection of the sensor technology is essential. Implementation The photoelectric sensors of the OG-wetline series are specially optimized for applications in the food industry such as cheese dairies, breweries or for the meat industry. Years of application know-how from these areas have gone into their development. Only high-quality materials, safe production processes and faultless assembly lead to long-term success. This is why the ecolink series EVT is used for the connection technology. Customer benefits The stainless steel housing, a plastic lens and a food-safe sealing material qualify the OG-wetline for wet areas of the food industry where aggressive cleaning agents are used. The OG-wetline has fixed ranges. For the variants with background suppression, the user can choose between scanning distances of 100 mm, 200 mm or 300 mm. The integrated fixed stop of the connectors protects the O-ring from being destroyed by overtightening the nut. The assembly and disassembly is carried out without any tools. The asymmetrically acting vibration protection holds the union nut firmly in position and thus guarantees an optimal and permanent seal. High-quality materials specially adapted to the application and intensive monitoring during and after production guarantee the highest quality standard.

Robust and long-range photoelectric switches
13/13 - New generation of S18 photoelectric switches is insensitive to ambient light and interference
Mülheim, October 28, 2013 - Turck presents a new generation of S18 photoelectric switches from its optoelectronics partner Banner Engineering. The robust IP67 sensors withstand ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +70 °C and can therefore be used in demanding applications. Thanks to improved evaluation electronics, all S18-2 devices achieve significantly higher ranges than their predecessors. The optimized interference suppression improves the use of several optical sensors in the immediate vicinity (cross talk avoidance). In addition, the S18-2 sensors are optimally protected against disturbing influences such as extraneous light or electromagnetic waves. Turck offers three operating modes of the S18-2 photoelectric sensors: One photoelectric proximity switch, one retro-reflective sensor and two models for mounting through-beam sensors (transmitter/receiver). Four LEDs provide information about the different operating states directly on site. The sensors can be easily set up using a clearly visible red light beam. The light sensor also has a button for adjusting the sensitivity;
