Waste water treatment describes the process of purification of contaminated water and the resulting recycled drinking water. For this purpose all waste water is collected in a sewage treatment plant and there passed through various stations and tanks in the treatment plant. Next the hard components are filter out. These are passed through various filtration materials, which is constantly finer. After this the waste water (also known as service water) has chemicals added to it in order to kill the bacteria. This is repeated in a series of tanks where different chemicals are used. At the end of the treatment chain the water once more so clean that it can be reintroduced into the drinking water circuit without any problems.
