These features are available to you, if you need just one small part or are developing a complete new range of products.
ACE - WHEN PERFORMANCE MATTERS
In neutral position the piston rod of a gas push spring is always slid out. The gas pressure on both sides of the piston of a gas-push spring is equal.
This gas is compressible. With sufficient external force on the piston rod, by pushing on the piston rod into direction of the cylinder, the piston will compress the gaz. Due to the intrusion of the shaft into the cylinder the gas pressure will rise. When the external force reduces, the pressure will return the piston into its original position.
Normally, the standard gas push springs should be mounted with rod pointing down, so the seal is lubricated for a maximum life. Other orientations are possible with an additional oil chamber

Lifting, lowering, moving, and adjusting
STABILUS gas pressure springs of the LIFT-O-MAT series are always used when loads are to be lifted or lowered in a controlled manner. They support the force and thus ensure optimum weight balance.
LIFT-O-MAT makes the opening and closing of flaps and hoods child's play. Its damping guarantees particularly safe and user-friendly motion sequences.
Properties and function
The LIFT-O-MAT gas spring is a hydropneumatic adjustment element and consists of a pressure tube, piston rod with piston, and the respective connection. It is filled with nitrogen, which acts against piston surfaces of different sizes at constant pressure. This results in a force in the extension direction. It can be precisely determined by the individual filling pressure.
The advantages of this gas spring compared to the mechanical spring include its defined speed curve and excellent damping properties, which make even the operation of heavy flaps and doors comfortable. Easy assembly, compact dimensions, a flat spring characteristic curve and a very wide range of available thicknesses and connections round off the positive overall picture.
Advantages
- wide range of sizes, force variants and connections compact design, low space requirement simple and fast mounting flat spring detection, d.h. small increase in force even with large forces or strokes linear, progressive or degressive spring characteristic continuous locking (product-related) end position locking (extended and retracted) additional functions such as electrical switches, stop function, etc. can be integrated
