Copper and its alloys are characterised by particularly good corrosion resistance. It covers itself in the atmosphere with a firmly adhering protective oxide layer, which also forms again automatically after mechanical damage.
The composition of the natural patina varies regionally due to the variable atmospheric conditions.Care: The patina colouring applied by us is preserved by stove enamelling and can be maintained for a longer period of time by care, e.g. cleaning and rubbing with oil or wax.
Aluminium also covers itself in the atmosphere with a thin, retaining oxide layer. Anodizing creates a much stronger protective layer, which protects the material from atmospheric and chemical influences. This layer is extremely hard and abrasion-resistant despite its thinness.
