Industry heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat from one medium to another. It plays an important role in the chemical industry, petroleum, power, food, and many other industrial productions. In chemical production, heat exchangers can be used as Heaters, coolers, condensers, evaporators, reboilers, etc., are widely used.
Its main function is to increase the contact area to make the temperature difference between the two media as small as possible, thereby realizing heat transfer. Its working principle is to transfer the heat medium where the heat source or heat load is located through the pipes or plate heat exchangers in the heat exchanger and transfer the heat to another cold medium to achieve heat transfer. Different media can be fluid and fluid, fluid and gas, gas and gas, etc., or solid and fluid, etc.

Heat Transfer Surface Area: The primary factor influencing performance is the heat transfer surface area, typically measured in square meters (m²) or square feet (ft²). This dictates how effectively heat can be exchanged between the fluids.
Materials of Construction: The choice of materials is critical for durability and resistance to the substances being processed. Common materials include stainless steel, carbon steel, and various alloys.
Fluid Flow Rates: The flow rates of the hot and cold fluids passing through the exchanger are vital parameters. This is measured in cubic meters per hour (m³/h) or gallons per minute (GPM).
Temperature and Pressure Ratings: Operating temperatures and pressures must be within the design limits of the heat exchanger. This ensures safety and efficient performance. Temperatures are typically in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, and pressures in Pascals (Pa) or pounds per square inch (psi).
Type and Design: Heat exchangers come in various designs such as shell-and-tube, plate, or finned tube. Each design serves specific purposes and industries.
Heat Transfer Coefficient: The heat transfer coefficient (U-value) characterizes the efficiency of heat transfer within the exchanger. It's expressed in watts per square meter per degree Celsius (W/m²·°C) or British Thermal Units per hour per square foot per degree Fahrenheit (BTU/h·ft²·°F).
