Pellet heating is an ideal alternative to conventional heating. The natural raw material wood can only emit as much CO² as the tree has absorbed during its growth. In a pellet heating system the wood pellets are burned in a boiler. The heat generated heats the water in the heating system. The pellets are made of wood. These are pressed in the form of rods from waste products from the wood processing industry. Sawdust from sawmills and planing mills usually serves as the basic material. In order to achieve the total calorific value of the pellets, the raw materials are usually dried during production. A pellet heating can be used as central heating. This makes it possible to heat an entire house. However, it makes sense to integrate a buffer storage tank in the heating system. The buffer tank avoids the interval operation of the heating. This largely minimizes the poor efficiency in the heating furnace's warm-up phase, as it now has to work longer in one piece and the buffer storage tank is heated at the same time. The pause times between the intervals are also extended, as the heating system can fall back on the heat reserve from the buffer storage tank. Pellets can also be burned in individual stoves. The fuel supply is usually done manually. The big advantage of the pressed material is that it is quite easy to transport. Delivery is usually by truck.
