Air Collectors - Manufacturers, Traders & Suppliers

Air Collectors
The term air collector refers to a type of solar collector. In contrast to conventional solar collectors, the heat transfer medium is air instead of water. As a rule, an air collector is mounted on the roof of the house in order to be able to use the greatest possible solar radiation. Due to the fact that the air itself is not a good energy store, the heat must be made usable by means of a special process. Firstly, the air heated in the collector can be fed directly into the house with the aid of a fan or the unneeded air can be released into a storage medium to blow the air into the building if necessary. Air collectors are used wherever buildings need to be ventilated and/or heated. Nowadays, indoor swimming pools are increasingly equipped with air collectors on their roofs, as they can heat the pool cost-effectively and with the aid of the simplest technology. Air collectors are also being used more and more frequently in agriculture. In particular, this means that the collectors are used for drying grain, hay and various other biomass. An advocate of air collectors to be named is the German Alpine Association (DAV). He discovered the use of these collectors and uses the technology to ventilate and heat mountain huts as well as to dry and compost waste materials from the year-round hut operation.
