Mast rollers are a special design of support rollers, conceived specifically for use in fork lift trucks. Mast rollers support the mast and the fork arm carriage on the fork lift truck.
They are highly loaded and transfer very large loads in radial and axial directions at low speeds. They also absorb moment load via the outer ring.
High shock loads require a balanced concept with regard to the bearing assembly and outer ring wall strength. Materials and heat treatment of the rings are designed specifically for these requirements.
Besides the high strength a good seal against dirt entering from the outside and loss of grease from inside the bearing is very important for durability.
METER manufactures mast rollers with diameters of up to 300 mm. Cylindrical roller bearings, angular ball bearings or four point bearing are the most common designs.
